Granting wishes
Motorcycle riders' donation set to help sick kids' dreams come true

SNWeekly

Money donated by Ulysses Club to the Make-A-Wish Foundation will go towards three wishes about to be granted to children in Nagambie, Taggerty and Tocumwal.

Each year Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses, and is constantly involved with fundraising.

``It is really pleasing to have received a cheque of $1000 from the Ulysses Club to help us in the work,'' Make-A-Wish Goulburn Valley branch public relations co-ordinator Carole Breust said.

``Their generosity is appreciated and they can be assured it will go towards putting very big smiles on the faces of a whole family,'' Carole said.``We are currently working towards wishes for three children.

``A wish may be anything from a cubby house, a ride in a police car, a trip to Disneyland or a meeting with a celebrity or a sporting hero.

``The anticipation and happiness enjoyed by the child and the family helps to brighten their lives while they are going through a difficult period.''

Carole said this year's fundraising events would include Wish Day in April, when volunteers will be rattling collection tins in the street, and an annual gala dinner in July; plans are also in motion for a duck race on Goulburn River in October.
