Soroptimist International of Shepparton Inc celebrated International Womens's Day with a breakfast last Friday at The Carrington, Shepparton, and organisers were thrilled with the morning.

``We were really pleased with how it went,'' Soroptimist member Margaret Webster said.

``We do a lot of work in fundraising, but this event we just wanted to do it for other women and celebrate International Women's Day.

``We also had several people approach us to ask about joining our organisation or coming along to a meeting.''

Guest speakers included Strathbogie Shire councillor Debra Swan, Fairley Leadership's executive director Lisa McKenzie and Leading From Within co-founder Jenny O'Connell, who shared their personal and career stories and spoke about the challenges of being a woman.

Anyone wanting more information about Soroptimist International of Shepparton Inc can phone Jeanette Berry on 5821 1795.
