An enthusiastic crowd attended the launch of SheppARTon Festival 2010, this year titled Inspired, held last Thursday at Shepparton's Eastbank Centre.
The official opening included an exclusive free concert by Orchestra Victoria, along with Ryan and Michelle Black performing the theme song they wrote for the festival.
A highlight for artists on the night was the announcement of this year's awards.
Rosey Kilmartin took away the Fitz photography award and Luke Lewis won the award's junior section.
The CARM sculpture award, sponsored by the Furphy family, was won by Kaye Poulton for her work titled Branching into Suburbia, second prize went to Glenda Cornell for I Haven't Finished Looking At Them Yet and third was awarded to Robert Godden for Clash of the Points.
This year's JED art award recipient was Linda Botham with Out of My Mind, second place was Glenda Cornell's I Haven't Finished Looking At Them Yet. Third prize is a Peoples Choice award and will be announced at the end of the festival.
All the work is now on display, and reaches from the council doors across the foyer of Eastbank Centre and towards the northern end of the cafe.
